A Great Month for The Curious Investor

Wow. What a month. The Curious Investor finally hit 1000 unique users and still averaged well over 2 visits per visitor. Believe me, readership is a blogger’s best friend. It really helps to feed the desire to keep writing and makes the whole experience more worthwhile and for that I wanted to write and thank all of you who have been reading The Curious Investor regularly.

I’m really happy to have been able to write regularly this summer and I think the growth the blog has seen is a testament to the power of regularly updated content (hopefully content of quality as well). In addition to thanking readers of this blog, I’d like to share with you a few other developments for The Curious Investor. After a year of really rigorously trying to learn everything I can about the stock market and sharing it on this blog, I’ve gotten much more involved as far as actual stock picking and, while results can’t quite be examined yet, I do encourage you all to check out the “My Portfolios” section of this site as it is both the page in which I disclose stocks I have financial interest in as well as a page where you can go to follow my stock tips. I’ve added a new, actually usable, strategy featuring high-dividend stocks. Granted, I don’t have any real “skin in the game” but I will be tracking it as I would a real holding so you can see just how well my stock picks perform.

Also, I’ve begun writing for a startup personal finance community called NestEggr. As a sponsored blogger there, I write a blog which is much more free form than this one featuring more editorializing, more fun, and more varied topics. I also pre-propose many of my stock picks there before I write about them in-depth on this site. It’s really been fun being part of the NestEggr community and I do recommend that you join if you’re interested in meeting other like minded personal finance and investing enthusiasts (as well as a few professionals).

Finally, I would like to encourage you all to participate more actively on this site. How can you do so? Leave comments! Or, subscribe to the feed! It’s the only way I can track what’s popular and what’s not and hopefully tailor the site’s content to that which interests you most. With that being said, here’s your first chance. As it’s the weekend and there will be a few days before I post again, leave your requests as a reply to this post. Are you interested in a particular stock? A particular stock strategy? Let me know and I’ll try to expound on it in coming weeks.

Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm. Happy investing. And, have a great Labor Day Weekend!
